BIO
I have always been interested in art and creating things.
I started attending a sculpture night class which I did for several years which I really enjoyed. I modelled mainly in clay and either casting or firing the final piece. I then brought my own kiln and wheel and have concentrated more on ceramics, but still like to create sculptural forms. I take inspiration from nature in creating my work. I like to experiment with different forms and styles using hand-building and throwing techniques. I use earthenware and stoneware, most of the larger pieces are unique. I have most recently been combining ceramics with wire to create the final form. I am interested in new technology and computer aided design, I have invested in a 3D printer and started experimenting by using printed plastic elements but mostly for tools and pattern making to aid my ceramic work.
I now have a small 3D clay printer which I have been experimenting with to create new forms and combining with thrown and hand built ceramics.
I am a member of the Wey Ceramics Society and Southern Ceramic Group I regularly take part in the Groups exhibitions as well as selling my work in local galleries and my online Etsy shop. See details on my Galleries and Exhibitions page here
